Maintenance at Rutges Vernieuwt is about more than just technology. What started in 1894 as a traditional painting company has grown into a high-quality maintenance and renovation company for housing corporations in more than 130 years. With that growth, the need for control and overview of quality and processes also increased. We spoke to Coen Lips, quality manager and driver of continuous improvement.

What was the challenge?

Like many construction and maintenance companies, several important processes were running at Rutges Vernieuwt at the same time, says Coen. These processes were recorded on paper or in separate Word and Excel files. In practice, this meant little overview, scattered information and dependence on individual employees.

Recognisable? For many construction and maintenance organizations, this is the time when control over processes decreases, valuable time is lost and, ultimately, the quality of the product or service also comes under pressure.

The goal was to have one quality management system that could grow with the company and its associated processes.

Why did you choose ISO2HANDLE?

When Coen started at Rutges Vernieuwt, he saw that things had to be done differently. To do this, he looked for a quality management system in which all documentation and processes could be properly secured. During his search, Coen came across ISO2HANDLE. “We have created a module where the audits are planned. People receive a notification on the phone that an audit needs to be done. And they carry it out immediately.”

Everything in one place

In addition, Rutges Vernieuwt uses multiple links. Links have been made with, among others, DOOR (training and coaching), Awaretrain (digital safety) and the Rutges App. This way, systems work better together and we don't have to record the information twice. So handy, isn't it?

How do you experience the collaboration?

“The cooperation with ISO2HANDLE is actually very pleasant, we work with the software every day and if I have a question, I get a quick answer and they immediately think along with them.”

It is precisely these short lines of communication that ensure that you can move on quickly and do not get stuck in daily work.

“What I also find valuable is that you are included in new developments. Last year, we were at a user day in the Apenhuel. That's where you'll hear what ISO2HANDLE is working towards and you'll also know what you can join as a company,” says Coen.
